Cleaning up your html and css

Well, eventually, you get to the point where your css file is a long, tangled mess, with a bunch of extra stuff that doesn’t do anything anymore, and some redundant instructions.

You could go through it and clean it up yourself, but it’s always a good idea to let robots do it first!

First, running it through the W3c html validator and the css validator helps find errors and unsupported elements, but it won’t optimize your css or clean up your identation.

Enter the various css and html checkers, which verify your code’s validity, but also recommend changes and adjustments to make it more efficient and/or simpler. Sitepoint built a list of 10 css cleanup tools that could help you clean up your CSS code.

But, as always, remember to add comments!
